Clutch Bag Round Bottom - Pattern

Clucth Väska Rund Botten - Mönster

As a complement to our popular pattern for a clutch bag with a square bottom, we have now developed patterns for oval bottoms. The oval bottom fits both our traditional square clutch handles, but above all, it's perfect for our round clutch handles.

❯ Materials
❯ Abbreviations
  • R - Row
  • St - Stitch
  • SC - Single Crochet
  • Sl St - Slip Stitch
  • Ch - Chain
  • Inc - Increase (2 SC in the same St)

Information: Follow the instructions for the bottom that fits your clutch handle size and then proceed to the universal instructions to finish the clutch bag.

This pattern works equally well for traditional clutch handles as for our rounded clutch handles.

The pattern is crocheted in individual rows. At the end of each row, you make a Sl St into the first St crocheted in that row, closing the row. To start a new row, make a Ch to gain height for the new row, then follow the instructions for the next row.

Important: Both Sl St and Ch are not counted as stitches in the row and should not be crocheted into. They are only there to help close and start new rows. If you have difficulty distinguishing these, we recommend marking them so you don't accidentally crochet into them. Please count all St at the end of each row to ensure that your stitch count does not increase or decrease.

Continuation:

Continue to crochet 1 SC in each St in each row until you reach the desired height for your bag.

Optional: Then prepare the handle by wrapping the yarn around the entire handle. Then secure the thread, the easiest way is to do it with a glue gun.

In the next and final row, the handle will be crocheted in. Make regular SCs in each St in the row, simultaneously crocheting around the handle.

Optional: If you want a handle on the bag, mark out on both sides how many stitches wide you want the handle to be. Make sure it's even on both sides. When making the handle, crochet only around the handle and not into the bag itself, then return to crocheting SCs through both the handle and the bag.

For the most even result, make as many SCs around the handle as you would have made in the bag. For example: You want your handle to be 9 SCs wide. Skip these on the bag and crochet 9 SCs only around the handle, then return to SCs through both the handle and the bag.

Then finish the work and secure the thread carefully, and it's done!
