As a complement to our popular square-bottom clutch bag pattern, we have now developed patterns for oval bottoms. The oval bottom fits both our traditional square clutch handles, but above all, it's perfect for our round clutch handles.

Information: Follow the instructions for the bottom that fits your clutch handle size, then proceed to the universal instructions to complete the clutch bag.
This pattern works equally well for traditional clutch handles as for our rounded clutch handles.
The pattern is crocheted in individual rounds. At the end of each round, make a SL ST in the first St crocheted during that round to close the round. To start a new round, make a CH to get to the correct height for the new round, then follow the instructions for the next round.
Important: Both the SL ST and CH are not counted as stitches in the round and should not be crocheted into. They are only there to help close and start new rounds. If you find it difficult to distinguish them, we recommend marking them so you don't accidentally crochet into them. Feel free to count all the St at the end of each round to ensure your stitch count does not increase or decrease.

Continuation:
Then continue to crochet 1 SC in each St in each round until you reach the desired height of your bag.
Optional: Then prepare the handle by wrapping the yarn around the entire handle. Then secure the thread, the easiest way is to do it with a glue gun.

During the next and final round, the handle will be crocheted in. Make regular SC in each St in the round where you also crochet in the handle.
Optional: If you want a handle on the bag, mark on both sides how many St wide you want the handle to be. Make sure it's even on both sides. When making the handle, you only crochet around the handle and not into the bag itself, then return to crocheting SC in both the handle and the bag.
For the most even result, make as many SC around the handle as you would have done in the bag. For example: You want your handle 9 SC wide. Skip these on the bag and crochet 9 SC only around the handle, then return to SC through both the handle and the bag.

Then finish the work and secure the thread carefully, then it's done!
